The Government of Myanmar is looking to improve the investment climate for foreign investors, whilst also improving the registration and monitoring processes that support inward investors.
The Department of Company Administration (DICA), with support from The Asian Development Bank, invited technical assistance from Gareth John Consulting and Adam Smith International to address this issue. The immediate requirement was to ensure that investors actually invested the full amount of money that their operating licence required, but also had access to professional services to support their market entry.
Working closely with DICA and the Myanmar Investment Commission, we re-engineered their quarterly and annual reporting processes, and set up a roadmap to establish a Professional Services Referral Network to allow closer working with the Private Sector in Myanmar.
This has now been formally adopted by the Government of Myanmar, and is currently operational.
