The Thames Gateway is Europe’s largest Regeneration area.
The region covers parts of London, Kent and Essex, and suffered from a lack of identity, focus and coordination of promotional effort.
The strategy we developed was to focus the marketing strategy around the significant “spatial transformers” (Ebbsfleet Valley, Canary Wharf, etc), which were likely to be major attractors of Investment and also give credibility and locational understanding to an area that had hitherto been difficult to promote under a single unifying proposition.
The organisational response was to create Invest Thames Gateway as the “one stop shop” for the promotion and management of FDI into the Thames Gateway on behalf of the UK Government.
This proved crucial to the development of a pipeline of FDI projects and successes who were alerted to the UK opportunity by the promotion of the Thames Gateway brand.
